# Google Search Console

> Turn the search queries you already rank for into suggested GEO prompts, refreshed weekly

The Google Search Console integration reads the queries your site ranks for and turns them into suggested prompts for [GEO tracking](/geo/overview). It is managed from the GEO **Prompts** page; the **Google Search Console** card on the Integrations page redirects there.

## What Notra reads

Notra requests Google's `webmasters.readonly` scope plus `openid` and `email` (to show which Google account is connected). It reads search analytics for one property you choose: query, impressions, and position. It cannot change anything in Search Console.

## Setup

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the Prompts page">
    In GEO mode, open **Prompts**. The **Google Search Console** card reads "We read the queries your site ranks for and suggest the AI prompts people ask. Suggestions refresh weekly." Click **Connect Search Console**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Sign in with Google">
    Approve the request with the Google account that has access to your Search Console property. You have 10 minutes before the link expires.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose a property">
    Back in Notra, the **Choose a Search Console property** dialog lists the properties your Google account can see. Pick the domain whose queries Notra should use and click **Connect property**. If the list is empty, add or verify the property in Search Console, then reconnect.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review suggestions">
    The first sync runs right away. Suggestions appear under **Suggested prompts** on the Prompts page with the search queries behind each one, their impressions, and best position. Click **Track** on a suggestion, or **Track all**, to add them to your tracked prompts, or dismiss the ones you do not want.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## How suggestions are generated

* Notra pulls the last 28 days of query data for the property (Search Console data lags by about 3 days).
* It keeps the top 250 queries with at least 5 impressions and passes up to 80 of them to a model.
* The model returns up to 15 prompt suggestions per sync, each citing up to 8 of your queries.
* The sync repeats every Monday at 06:00 UTC while the property stays connected.

<Note>
  Suggestions only become tracked prompts when you click **Track**. Suggestions you have not tracked are replaced on the next sync; prompts you already track or dismissed are not suggested again.
</Note>

## Managing the connection

From the card's menu on the Prompts page you can:

* **Change Search Console property**: your current property stays connected until you confirm a new one.
* **Reconnect Google**: shown when Google access expired. Reconnecting with a different Google account clears the selected property.
* **Disconnect**: removes the stored tokens and revokes Notra's access with Google.
* **Dismiss the card**: hides it on the Prompts page in this browser. The connection itself is unchanged.
